Old Junior, now deputy commander of the 8th Air Force at Carswell Air Base, is shown as he checked into his office for a "double homecoming," back to his native Texas and to the 8th Air Force, in which he served in England for the duration of the World War II. He is photographed while signing in, on the 8th headquarter officers' register.
