Series on meeting of Oil executives from throughout the country at the Athens farm of Ben C. Belt, Houston, vice president of the Gulf Oil Corporation for get-together at which the utilization of a major portion of the Goldsmith pool of Ector County was announced. The productive acreage involved in the unit totals 14,038 acres with 52.7 percent of the 1,053 wells in the pool included. Left to right, Ben C. Belt, S. L. Digby, Louisiana Conservation Commission and D. V. Blocker, Shreveport, retired Gulf official, warm their hands over a barbecue pit. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, December 17, 1951.
