Description
Sgt. Robert C. Carroll of Foard City, second from left, displays a broad smile and his Distinguished Service Cross to his parents and brother after Fort Hood Armistice Day ceremonies. The decoration, pinned on by Congressman Poage of Waco, was awarded for Carroll's stand against North Korean tanks Aug. 15, 1950. The parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Carroll, flank the soldier. His brother, Oran Y. Carroll, stands at extreme right.
