Bill Costa, 31, above, Houston Buff shortstop, who was admitted to the polio ward of City-County Hospital. His condition is termed fair by doctors at the Fort Worth Hospital. The veteran ball player arrived for a night game but illness kept him out. Bill Costa is shown laying on bed in the photograph. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, August 21, 1951.
