Description
Olive Mason is a blues and boogie woogie singer - in voice, appearance and impact reminiscent of Sophie Tucker, "last of the red-hot mamas." Olive and her 20 year old son, Bob Floyd are back in Fort Worth after long absences. They made the reunion memorable at the 811 Club, the Hemphill Street night spot where Olive entertains piano and song. Bob dropped in to see mom, shucked off his Shakespeare training for a spell, and joined her in some very smooth duets. A portrait of Olive Mason is shown. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, August 17, 1951.
