Plucky Nancy Voss of Wichita Falls, forgot about her cancer that has already caused the amputation of her right leg as she celebrated her 12th birthday with a visit to Forest Park Zoo and a round of gala activities in Fort Worth. Picture snapped at the zoo mirror her happiness as she feeds the elephants while friends and family look on. Left to right, Zookeeper Ham Hamilton Hittson, Donnie Fowler, her parents, Sergeant and Mrs. H. M. Voss, and Pat Perry. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition July 19, 1951.
