Description

These East Texas pines have sprouted strong roots at Arlington. Residents doubted the trees, set out in 1940, would survive last winter's freeze, but the cold left them in a hardier condition than ever. Planted by the late Dean Emeritus E. E. Davis of North Texas Agricultural College, the trees are at Davis Drive and Pantego Road, near a second appropriately named Pine Grove. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition July 20, 1951.
