Description
Cement laying, on a production line basis, is being carried out on the East-West Expressway. At right is the huge paving machine which mixes cement and then dumps it onto the roadbed via the long arm. Centered on the roadbed at left is "spreader" which levels off the material. Following the spreader came two "finishers" which put the final touches on the road. About 1,000 feet of road a day is completed under this process.
