Description
Little Wilma McClain was all wrapped up in the event when her "father for a day", Sergeant Jim Long, fed her an ice cream bar in the picnic area at Carswell Air Base. Airmen were hosts to 100 youngsters from Fort Worth Children's Home for the third consecutive Father's Day, including morning church services, tour of the base, dinner in a mess hall, movies, swimming and a midafternoon ice cream and soda pop picnic. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition June 18, 1951.
