Boy Scouts from Troop 38, St. Mark's Methodist Church, raised the flag in Botanic Garden Flag Day ceremonies in an observance sponsored by the three Fort Worth chapters of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Left to right are Leo Valley, Coy Drennan, Scoot Merliott, Sam Smith, Mrs. F. H. Herman, and Terry Smith. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition June 14, 1951.
