Description
Preston M. Geren, Jr. studying a set of plans with his father, Preston M. Geren, Sr., who began his career as an architectural engineer. This photo was part of a series for Father's Day, the cutline reads "Like Father, Like Son. Father's Day is an occasion to pay special homage to the fathers of families. Sometimes called the 'forgotten men,' fathers are dear to the hearts of sons and daughters, as well as wives. Sons who follow in the footsteps of their fathers hold a special appeal to their fathers. Many times sons develop their own trades or professions, aside from their fathers', but when they do go into the same sort of work, the bond between father and son is strengthened. Today's pictures show a few 'like father, like son' families in Fort Worth." Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition June 17, 1951.
