Description
Two members of the 249th Tank Battalion (Heavy) of the 49th Armored Division load up the barrel and receiving housing of a.50 caliber machine gun at Eagle Mountain Lake National Guard Base for transport to Camp Polk, Louisiana, for two weeks summer training. At left is W. J. Roscoe, 27, of Saginaw, tank driver, and at right, Sergeant James W. Smith, 22, of 3615 E. 4th. W. J. Roscoe and James W. Smith can be seen loading a truck for the trip. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition June 9, 1951.
