R. E. Cox, left, Tuesday received for Cox's Department Store the fashion Academy gold medal award from C. R. Eschenfelder, Dallas, southwestern sales manager for the Phillips-Jones Corporation. The award, given for "fashion awareness, good taste and excellent styling," originally went to Van Heusen products for men's shirts and other furnishings.
