Description
Six of the eight survivors of the Superfortress B-29 crash near Indian Oaks, Texas. Four airmen were killed as a result of the crash. Left to right are Capt. Robert A. Dibbell, commander-pilot; First Lt. Leroy L. Ehlenbeck, observer; Staff Sgt. Edward M. Berkheimer, radio operator; Staff Sgt. Harold L. Rees, engineer; Second Lt. Robert E. Morey, co-pilot; and Tech. Sgt. James A. Barnes, gunner. The other survivors, Capt. Richard W. Swanson and First Lt. Joseph Herbst, were in isolation with burns at the time of this photo.
