Hughes' gardening program on the two acres he owns at 2616 Handley Dr. Hughes is shown here in the rose garden where he watches the reaction of plants, sent by growers from over the nation, to Texas weather. He is a rosarian for the Fort Worth Men's Garden club. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition June 3, 1951.
