Description
The Cats' Joe Torpey reaches for first base as First Baseman Donald Eggert of Tulsa tries to tag him in the first inning of first game at La Grave Field. Eggert had taken a throw from the pitcher. A man sliding on the field on his stomach legs bent up, hand is not shown it's in the sand and arms are shown on the ground. A man bending down in white baseball uniform torching ground. A man in a black suit is a few inches from them watching with a black cap on his head. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, May 27, 1951.
