Description
Image shows W. W. McMillan, left, and C. C. Garner, right. Garner was chief of the 815-man postal inspection division. Garner was in Fort Worth for a meeting of Texas and Louisiana inspectors, and credited the men of the Fort Worth division with helping solve one of the most baffling robberies in years. The case had started in Oregan in September of 1950, when two ex-convicts held up a small post office and fled with 2,600 blank money orders, the postmaster's rubber stamp, and $349. Published in the morning edition, May 27, 1951.
