Image shows Dr. Cary Middlecoff, left, in front of crowd, putting golf ball on course, aiming for birdie that would place him on par for the 16th hole, misses shot by three feet on 45 feet attempt. His second putt made him score a bogey and cause a tie with Ben Hogan. Middlecoff's score for second round of Colonial's $15,000 was 71. His total 140 against Ben Hogan's 139. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition May 26, 1951.
