Description
Image shows Ted S. Petty, the "Wife-slayer", after being caught to police 84 days after having escaped from the mental health facility he was committed in. Petty, a former tavern owner, had shot and killed his estranged wife, Ruby Maud, on a downtown street the previous fall and had having been found insane, was committed. Published in the evening edition, May 24, 1951.
