Description
Won't it start? One of life's darkest moments - David Moore, 5-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. James L. Moore, couldn't get his "hotrod" started when he attempted to take his cousin, Donna Louise Rogers, 4-year-old daughter of Ruth Rogers, 936 East Powell, for a ride. David's father built the small car in his spare time in a shop in his garage. The body of the vehicle, about five feet long and two feet wide, is constructed mainly of plywood with a metal hood. It is powered by a Briggs-Stratton motor which is geared down to about five miles per hour. Due to the dubious legality of operating such a vehicle on the streets of Fort Worth, the Moore's have had constructed a circular sidewalk around their home at 1600 Avenue East, on which the car can be ridden by the children without danger to themselves or others.
