Winner Loy Mead, left, of Odessa, shoots his left for an even break against Joe Tomasello of San Antonio in the second round of their welter fight. Mead gained a split decision, which drew the night's biggest boo from the fans. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, February 16, 1950.
