This is a glimpse of the scorching fight between Loy Mead (left) of Odessa and Joe Tomasello of San Antonio. It was a first-round welterweight scrap in the state Golden Gloves tournament. Mead won. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, February 17, 1950.
