Description
Alex Vargas, right, of Houston, walks in with a two-fisted attack to the body in the third round of his fight with Paul Stein of Lubbock to pull a close decision in their lightweight scrap. Stein scored a quick first-round knockdown, and had Vargas in trouble but faded in the final two rounds. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, February 16, 1950.
