A brass band welcome, aided by the North Side High School Ballyboo Band and abetted by Majorettes Marcia Boone, left, and Ruth Price, was accorded Mayor J. R. Edwards at the North Side Kiwanis luncheon. "First time I've ever been kidnapped," quipped Fort Worth's newest Mayor. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition April 14, 1951.
