John Erickson's cute wife, Jane, puts her own accolade on the check of her husband, who won the top prize in the 1951 Local Artists Show. Erickson, TCU commercial art instructor, received the $300 Newhouse award for an abstract painting, "Space-Space", shown in the background. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram, morning edition March 23, 1951.
