Twelve students from six South Side schools took part in an Arbor Day Tree Planting Rites in Rosemont Park. At the microphone is Dolores Gant of George Clarke School. In the semi-circle are (left to right) Ciprino Dominguez, Joyce Hancock, Lupe Gallegos, Harry Miller, Johnnie Dieb, Mary Maurice McCarty, Maurice Bradford, Mary Jo Lambert, Odell Southerland, Claudia Hathcock, and Eric Hansen.
