The 1941 Women's Texas Open Tournament is being held at the Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas. Four of the top contending golfers in the tournament, left to right, are Babe Didrikson Zaharias, Patty Berg, Aniela Goldthwaite and Helen Dettweiler. Mrs. Zaharias, the 1940 tournament champion, is looking to defend her crown. Mrs. Zaharias is a two-time Olympic gold medalist. She is dressed in a button-up shirt and a skirt. Miss Berg is a professional golfer from Minnesota. She is wearing a duckbill hat, sweater, and knickers. Miss Goldthwaite is the top amateur in Fort Worth, Texas. She is dressed in a wide brimmed hat, button-up shirt, sweater, and a skirt. Miss Dettweiler is a professional golfer from Washington D. C. She is wearing a collared shirt, sweater, and a skirt. All four women are posing with their golf clubs. The clubhouse is visible in the background. Mrs. Zaharias, Miss Berg, and Miss Dettweiler later went on to become three of thirteen founders of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA).
