Shannon is Fort Worth's blind golfer who'll play a return "national championship: match here Sunday, October 26. Mrs. Zaharias, who used to be the world's greatest female athlete, is now a star golfer playing in the Texas Women's Open tournament at River Crest. Shannon's blind opponent will be Clint Russell of Duluth, Minnesota, who won a recent match 2 and 1 in Duluth. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, October 14, 1941.
