    Description

    Wednesday night patrons of seven elementary schools protested to the Board of Education over the suggested closing of their buildings. Shown is Hal O. McConnell, holding upraised a voluminous copy of citizens' petitions and speaking against closing the Oak Knoll School. He is dressed professionally with suit and tie. Mrs.. Fred Withers, president of the Oak Knoll Parent-teacher association(P. T. A.) is at the left of McConnell and W. A. Meacham, assistant superintendent, is at his right. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, October 9, 1941.
