Cantor Samuel Silverman of Chicago, Illinois shown standing before a portion of the Ark of the Covenant at Ahavath Sholom synagogue as he prepares for the Kol Nidre ritual, principal feature of the Yom Kippur atonement services to be conducted at Ahavath Sholom and Beth-El. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition September 30, 1941.
