Description

These girls and these horses were at the third annual show of the Texas Palomino Association in Abilene, Texas, during the West Texas Fair. Shown here are Misses Patsy Morris and Joe Morris of Coleman, Texas. Miss Patsy is riding her horse that was second in the stock class, and Miss Joe, who was one of the ranch girls at the 1941 Southwestern Exposition and Fat Stock Show and is now attending Hardin-Simmons University, is riding a horse owned by Bill Turner of Coleman that was first in the men's stock class. The women are in a large pasture. Both are wearing hats and Western attire. There are cars and buildings in the background. Two Ferris wheels are also visible. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, October 1, 1944.
