Description
These four women started telephone wires humming as the United Service Organization (U. S. O.) lined up 900 young women to be dancing partners for its soldier dance at Hotel Texas. The women on the U. S. O. advisory council for the dance gathered at the home of Mrs. Allen Gwynne (seated). The other members are, left to right, Mrs. Lloyd Jary, Mrs. Tom B. Saunders and Mrs. Edward W. Smith. Mrs. Gwynne and Mrs. Jary are wearing floral print dresses. Mrs. Gwynne is holding a piece of paper. Mrs. Saunders is wearing a dark-colored dress with lace detailing on the bodice. Mrs. Smith is wearing a dark-colored dress with two brooches pinned near the neckline. There is a floor lamp at the far right and a staircase in the background.
