Description
The Golden Gloves state tournament opened Thursday night at Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum in front of a crowd of 3,500. Squaring off in the ring left to right are Sonny Boy Roberts of Stephenville, Texas and Jack Osteene of Tyler, Texas. Roberts is shown taking a right-cross from Osteene. The referee, Joe Elder, and the judges earned a roof lifting "boo" when they declared Roberts the winner of the close fight.
