The Texas Christian University locker room is bustling with excitement as the Frogs prepare for the 1941 football season. Three promising young sophomores are sitting on the bench and are preparing for their first fall drill on the varsity squad. They are left to right Bob McCollum, Fred Taylor, and Allan Pike. McCollum is a fullback from Waco, Texas. He is wearing striped trousers. Taylor is a fullback from Denison, Texas. He is wearing trousers and putting on a sweatshirt. Pike is a guard from San Angelo, Texas. He is dressed in trousers and T.C.U. cowboy boots. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, September 5, 1941.
