Description
The Golden Gloves state tournament opened Thursday night at Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum. Squaring off for the bantam battle are left to right W. D. McCarty and Gatlin Jones. McCarty, of Littlefield, Texas is representing the Lubbock division. Jones, of Olney, Texas, is representing the Munday Division. Jones is shown wincing after a blow to his back while McCarty prepares to add a right hook. McCarty went on to win the decision. The referee is watching in the background.
