Playing a game of bridge are (left to right) Sergeant O. W. Holcomb, Corporal L. L. Latham, Sergeant G. W. Coston, Private L. R. Hampton and First Sergeant Christopher F. Overby, all from Stephenville, Texas, except Coston, who is from Lometa, Texas. All the men belong to Company D, 142nd Infantry. They are seated around a small makeshift table. The table has a folded blanket on top of it where the men's cards are laid. All the soldiers are dressed in military uniform. Behind them are several trees.
