Description
Major Frank M. Locke, of Stamford, Texas, walking through a forested area with his hands full of maps in preparation for war maneuvers in Louisiana. He is wearing his military uniform, a pair of eyeglasses and a brimmed hat strapped to his chin. In one arm he carries one large map while in the other he carries rolls of other maps. Major Locke commands the First Battalion of the 142nd Infantry, 36th Division.
