Mrs. J. P. Howard and her son, Douglas Howard, were recently evacuated from Manila, Philippines. Her husband remained in the Philippines, where they lived for six years. The mother and son are staying with Mr. Howard's mother, Mrs. J. E. Howard, in Fort Worth, Texas. Mrs. J. P. Howard is sitting on a chair, wearing a frilly blouse and a dark skirt. Eight-year-old Douglas is dressed in a button-up shirt and shorts.
