Description

The Texas Christian University Football (T. C. U.) team is beginning their spring training. Left to right are, Davey O' Brien, Danny Reese, Harmon Hightower and Dean Bagley. Rusty Cowart is seated in the front. Quarterback O'Brien led the Horned Frogs to an undefeated season and a National Championship in 1938. He is a former all American and the current field general for the Philadelphia Eagles. He is kneeling on the field dressed in a number 6 football uniform and holding a ball. Reese, Hightower, and Bagley (number 44) will all be sophomores next fall. They are dressed in their practice uniforms. Cowart is sidelined until he heals from a knee operation. He is wearing a hat, button-up shirt, letterman, and trousers. The players are in the Amon G. Carter Stadium. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, February 13, 1940.
