Ernest R. Fitzgerald is a welder at the Texas Steel Company. He was the first to apply for the defense engineering training courses to be offered for free in Fort Worth, Texas, in the fall of 1941. Mr. Fitzgerald is interested in aeronautical engineering. He is shown standing against a cement beam. He is dressed in a hat, button-up shirt with cuffed sleeves, and overalls.
