Description
45th Division troops from Camp Barkeley passed through Fort Worth, Texas, en route to Louisiana. Helping to ensure the troops passed through smoothly were, left to right, Private R. C. Locke, Major Forest R. Armstrong, Major John W. Herbert and Lieutenant Colonel Jess Larson. Private Locke is holding a sign of convoy orders, reading, "Police Will Take You Thru All Traffic / March Closed Up / 15 M. P. H. / Caps On - Be Alert." Major Forest R. Armstrong checked the time of arrival of the units. Major Herbert's Texas Defense Guard companies aided in handling traffic along the convoy route. Lieutenant Colonel Larson was in command of the control point. The officers are standing along the side of the road. Behind them is a motorcycle. On the road are trucks carrying the soldiers who are passing through.
