Description
Kansas State College is experimenting on the best way to feed cattle. The yearling heifers are Texas cattle, being raised in Manhattan, Kansas. The pictured lot of cattle were given some grain while being grazed during the summer. The grain-fed yearlings showed a noticeable difference in weight increase over the cattle that were fed only grass. The college-fed yearlings were bred by the Swenson Land and Cattle Company.
