Description
John D. Heard, president of the National Fashion Exhibitors, right, and Allan S. Klein, chairman of the board, center, as they presented a combination phonograph and radio to the United Service Organization (U. S. O.) center in Hotel Texas. The soldier putting on the record is Sergeant A. L. Parker, left, of the Machine Records Unit in Fort Worth, Texas. The exhibitors also presented the U. S. O. $50 worth of records and a sinking fund to replace broken records. On top of the record player is a plaque that reads: "Presented to the U. S. O. Lounge Hotel Texas By the National Fashion Exhibitors of America July 24, 1942." Sergeant Parker is wearing his military uniform. Heard and Klein are wearing suits.
