C. H. Thompson, left, president of the Loyal Couple Class of First Christian Church, accepting a picture of R. Houston Foster from James W. Straiton, right. Foster was a teacher of the class from its organization until his death on June 19, 1941. Straiton is chairman of a presentation committee of former presidents. Both men are wearing suits. In the portrait, Foster is wearing a suit and is sitting in a chair. Text beneath the picture reads: "Crossing the Bar."
