Description
Filling out her contribution card is Mrs. W. H. Greenwood, left, whose son, Dan, 28, is with the armored tank division at Camp Polk, Louisiana. The United Service Organization (U. S. O.) worker obtaining the subscription is Mrs. Edwin Shaver, right, who organized a team of mothers of volunteers and Army selectees to work independently of the official U. S. O. setup. Her son, James, 22, is with the medical detachment at Camp Barkley, Abilene, Texas. The two women are standing outside on a porch. Mrs. Greenwood is wearing a dark-colored dress with a ruffled collar and ruffles on the edge of the sleeves. Mrs. Shaver is wearing a floral print dress with flowers pinned to it by her shoulder, and a hat with a feather.
