Description
Dickens County is celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the county's organization at the the Spur Roundup and Rodeo. Participating in the rodeo is Miss Fern Sawyer, of Crossroads, New Mexico. She is is the first prize winner in the cowgirl sponsor contest. The prize is a 135-dollar saddle. Miss Sawyer is shown riding her buckskin horse down the side of a hill. She is dressed in a cowboy hat, western blouse, bandanna, trousers, and cowboy boots.
