Description
"Art in the Summer" recreation programs are held in the gallery of the Fort Worth Public Library and sponsored by the Fort Worth Art Association. Here, children are seen sketching a young male model, seated in a folding chair. The students are seated on the linoleum floor, with sketchpads in their laps. They are either concentrating on their drawing or are looking up at the model. The children are casually dressed. Left to right are students Peggy Jones, Mary Lou Burrows, Isaac Castro, David Obert and John Lewis Merrill. John Paul Riveire, who is posing for the students. This photograph was published in the August 2, 1941 morning edition of the Star-Telegram.
