Description
Weatherford College annual freshman day picnic attended by 50 freshman was held at Forest Park Thursday afternoon. Howard Jones, class president, dips out a drink for Misses Carol Frisher, left, and Florence Gwalthney, class secretary. Jones is wearing trousers, light colored long sleeve button down shirt, necktie and belt. Fisher is wearing a dark colored dress and Gwalthney is wearing a floral dress. All three are smiling and standing behind a table with three crockeries holding lemonade. Dipping deep to the 10 gallons of lemonade didn't last long. The more than 50 collegians spent a lively afternoon hiking, playing games, visiting the zoo, roller skating and riding the so-called "kid" amusements. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, May 9, 1941.
