Description
Carl Arnold, left, shaking hands with Bob Crosby, reigning world champion cowboy steer roper, after losing to him at the world's championship steer roping contest at Carlsbad, New Mexico. Mr. Crosby successfully defended his title by roping a dozen Mexican steers in a total time of 578.8 seconds. Both men are standing outside, and are wearing shirts, trousers and cowboy hats. There are automobiles and a building in the background.
