Description
Three Fort Worth, Texas, men who represented schools in the inaugural procession for Doctor W. R. White as the seventh president of Hardin-Simmons University were, left to right, Reverend W. Douglas Hudgins, pastor of Broadway Baptist Church, who represented his alma mater, Carson-Newman College at Jefferson City, Tennessee, Doctor E. M. Waits, president emeritus of Texas Christian University, and Judge W. H. Gilmartin, who represented the University of Florida. They are standing outside, all wearing caps and gowns. Doctor Waits is holding a folded piece of paper in his left hand. Behind them is a large crowd of people who are also wearing caps and gowns.
